This paper presents the results of studies of the northern pike feeding practice, which were conducted in the Middle Anadyr River area since September through October, 2005. Nine fish species were reported as its ration, whereas any non-fish food items were not found. The most typical preys found in pike stomachs were Coregonidae Family fishes (whitefishes), which as well dominated the catches during the study period. The share of whitefishes in catches and in the pike ration is shown in terms of their species composition and size-age structures. A relationship between the pike feeding activity and migration dynamics of whitefishes is reported. Feeding practices of different age groups of the northern pike are examined.
Keywords:  northern pike, feeding, the Anadyr River, whitefishes, migrations to spawning and overwintering sites.
